Do you want to create a perfect cat eye in a fabulous shade of electric pink? This men’s makeup tutorial will explain how you can achieve the bold intensity neon makeup.
This neon glam style isn’t difficult; you’ll just have to layer your colors correctly. Find out how you can get this high-drama look.
Step 1: Moisturize
Begin your men’s makeup tutorial with a freshly cleaned face. Apply a combination moisturizer/primer product. We used Bobbi Brown’s Vitamin Enriched Face Base, which improves the complexion while providing a good base for makeup.
Step 2: Prime Eyelids
On the eyelids, blend a neutral cream eyeshadow from lash line to brow. We used MAC Cosmetics Pro Longwear Paint Pot in a shade called “Soft Ochre.”
Step 3: Add Foundation
Use a foundation matched to your skin tone to get even, all-over coverage. We used MAC Cosmetics Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation.
Step 4: Create Contouring
To create facial definition, add a darker tone diagonally just below your cheekbones and on the sides of the nose. Blend well using a round brush. Here, we used MAC Cosmetics Conceal and Correct Palette.
Step 5: Add Concealer Below Eyes
To brighten up below the eyes, we used Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer in the shade “Fair.”
Step 6: Set Foundation with Powder
Use a light dusting of powder to set your foundation and create a flawless finish. Use a combination of light and dark tones to preserve the contouring. For the light tone, we used, Airspun Loose Face Powder in “Naturally Neutral,” and the bolder color was MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in “Dark Golden.”
Step 7: Outline the Cat Eye Shape
Establish the overall shape of your cat eye using an eyeliner pencil. Then, blend out the liner to smooth any harsh lines. This color is called “Super Pink” from Ben Nye.
Step 8: Start Building Eye Color
Add a bold pink eyeshadow to the crease of your eye. This is “Hot Pink” from the 360 Cheer Cosmetics’ Birthday Girl Palette.
Step 9: Add Depth to Your Color
Build up your color layers by adding a fuchsia tone like this one called “Burgundy” from the same palette. Start at the outer crease and blend inward. Additionally, bring this color down below the eyes, carrying it along the lower lash line.
Step 10: Create a Glamorous Eye Highlight
On the eyelids, a layer a pearlescent shimmer will add a dramatic contrast. This tone is called “Pink Opal” from Kat Von D’s Alchemist Holographic Palette.
Step 11: A Dash of Black Adds Drama
To the outer eyelid, lightly apply black eyeshadow from the 360 Cheer Cosmetics’ palette. Blending it in creates a high-drama purple.
Step 12: Add Neon Highlights
Brighten up the lower lid by adding the “Hot Pink” tone from the 360 Cheer Cosmetics’ palette.
Step 13: Line Eyes with Black
Define eye shape with a sharp black sweep of “guyliner” along your lash line. You can get good coverage with a gel eyeliner such as the AMC Eyeliner from Inglot.
Step 14: Add Mascara and Eyelashes
First, use a volumizing black “manscara” on your eyelashes. Then, apply false eyelashes such as the “Empress” style from LA Sugar Castles Cosmetics.
Step 15: Don’t Ignore Your Jawline
Create a polished look by lightly dusting a neutral toned powder along the jawline. We used MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix Sculpt and Shape Contour Palette in Light/Medium.
Step 16: Add Pink to Cheeks
Add a rose blush to the apples of your cheeks, lightly blending along the diagonal. This is NARS Cheek Palette Unfiltered.
Step 17: Fill in Eyebrows
Using a dark brown powder like this one from The Brow Guru, fill in the eyebrows.
Step 18: Add Lipstick
Color the lips electric neon to complement the boldness of your eye makeup. This is MAC’s matte lipstick in “Candy Yum Yum.”
