The winter months can be especially tough on your lips. All of the wind, cold, and dry indoor heat can make your lips very unhappy.
If you’ve been experiencing dry, chapped, painful lips, try these tips and you’ll be back to beautiful in no time!
ALWAYS apply good quality lip balm with a minimum SPF of 15 (even in the winter) before anything else touches your lips! If you are outside in the cold and wind, be sure to reapply every few hours.
Drink lots of water. You’ve heard it before, but it’s true! Proper hydration is essential for full lips and healthy skin. Your lips lose moisture five times faster than the other skin on your face, so they will show dehydration first. So, drink plenty of water this winter!
Don’t forget to brush! Start your morning routine by lightly brushing your lips with a very soft baby toothbrush. This will gently exfoliate your lips and prepare them for lip balm.
Moisturize your lips before bedtime. Use your down time to let your lips recover and be sure to apply a good quality moisturizer at night. If you are a “mouth-breather” at night, this is especially important because your lips need some extra protection while you sleep.
